L K Advani files papers

BJP's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani, filed his nomination papers for the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat.

Undefeated since 1991, BJP strongman and partys prime ministerial candidate, L K Advani, filed his nomination papers for the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat on Wednesday and reiterated that the BJP-led NDA, if voted to power, would strive to bring back black money stashed in tax havens abroad.

NDA will contest the polls on the three planks of good governance, development and secularism, mentioned in the BJP poll manifesto, he told mediapersons after filing his nomination papers at the Gandhinagar district collectors office.

Mr Advani was accompanied by Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, state BJP president Purshottam Rupala and his family members. This is the 5th time the former deputy-prime minister has filed his papers from the Gandhinagar seat.

I have filed my nomination for the fifth time in Gandhinagar constituency. People of this constituency have voted for me in the past and I am happy that I am the party candidate for the fifth time, the 81-year-old saffron leader said seeking re-election from the party stronghold.

The papers were filed exactly at 12:39 PM, considered an auspicious time.
