Kunal Kamra's location being traced; Action will be taken as per law, says Maharashtra Minister
Maharashtra minister Yogesh Kadam assured strict action against comedian Kunal Kamra for defamatory remarks on Deputy CM Eknath Shinde. Kamra had called Shinde a 'traitor' during a performance, leading to Shiv Sena workers vandalizing a Mumbai stu...

Speaking to reporters, Kadam mentioned that the law is the same for everyone and that he does not support the actions of Shiv Sena workers who vandalised a studio in Mumbai over Kamra’s comments. However, he added, “One must understand the anger of Shiv Sainiks.”
The controversy began during Kamra’s performance at the Habitat Studio in the Unicontinental hotel, located in Mumbai’s Khar area. During the show, Kamra referred to Shinde as a “traitor” and performed a parody song based on a Hindi track from the film Dil Toh Pagal Hai, mocking Shinde’s rebellion against his former leader Uddhav Thackeray in 2022.
On Sunday night, several Shiv Sena workers reportedly went to the studio and vandalised both the venue and the hotel. The Mumbai police have registered an FIR against Kamra for allegedly making defamatory remarks against Shinde.
Meanwhile, the police arrested Shiv Sena functionary Rahul Kanal and 11 others for ransacking the venue. An official stated that the arrests were made following Kamra’s “traitor” remark about Shinde.
