The state government is gearing up for Kumbh Mela next year for which various infrastructure and related work is being carried out with an outlay of Rs 669 crores.

LUCKNOW: The state government is gearing up for Kumbh Mela next year for which various infrastructure and related work is being carried out with an outlay of Rs 669 crores. Chief Secretary Javed Usmani on Friday reviewed the progress of work regarding the Kumbh Mela next year for which UP Power Corporation has been given 93 crores, 402 crores to PWD, 41.92 crores to Irrigation, Rs 20.56 crores to UP Jal Nigam, Rs 50.63 crores to Avas Vikas Parishad, 50.96 crores to Nagar Nigam, Allahabad, Rs 5.47 crores to Ganga Pollution Control Board.

Officials were instructed to ensure that the infrastructure work is monitored closely for the grand congregation of pilgrims. The Chief Secretary said that it was vital that he work is completed on time as pilgrims start arriving in large numbers and there is a huge load on the civic amenities.
