GUWAHATI: Banned Ulfa (independent) militants claimed that abducted Kuldip Moran is a spy of security forces.

Paresh Baruah, self-styled commander in chief of Ulfa (independent), called a local television channel and said Moran is a spy of security forces and has been informing the security forces about the movement of Ulfa cadres.

“BJP MLA of Sadiya Bolin Chetia and Mergeritha MLA, Bhasker Sarma is also involved. The outfit's court will take a call on Kuldip,” Baruah said.

The outfit on Monday released a video footage showing Moran appealing to his family, BJP legislator Bolin Chetia and Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal to secure his release by paying the Ulfa faction.

Ulfa has sought Rs 1 crore for his release.

Moran is son of the local BJP leader Ratneswar Moran, a close aide of Chetia.
