KTR hits out at Rahul Gandhi over arrest of BRS leader; calls him 'coward,' 'undemocratic'
Rama Rao's attack came on a day when Rahul led the opposition's protest march towards the EC office in Delhi over the alleged irregularities in SIR process and pressing for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's resignation.
Rama Rao was responding to the arrest of a BRS leader for putting up a banner, without permission, making false imputations against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his family.
Gandhi preaches Constitution, yet runs "anarchy" in Telangana through his "puppet Revanth Reddy" and encourages defections, Rama Rao alleged.
"Mr @RahulGandhi wants to be Prime Minister, but acts like a coward, a bully and an undemocratic human," KTR, as Rama Rao is known, said in a post on X.
Gandhi shouts "vote chori" on the streets, but made Telangana's biggest "vote-chor, the original vote-for-note peddler, the Chief Minister", he charged.
Revanth Reddy makes baseless allegations against anyone but when BRS leader Krishank Manne questioned the CM's family's corruption with proof, he gets arrested, he said.
"Rein in your puppet, Rahul. Stop making a mockery of the Indian Constitution," he said.
Manne was arrested here on Tuesday in connection with a case booked following a complaint by a civic official over putting up a public banner containing false imputations against Revanth Reddy and his family members without any permission and intending to harm the CM's reputation and misleading the public.
The case was registered under relevant sections of the BNS at the Gopalapuram police station on October 4.
"He (Krishank) was arrested and produced before a city court which granted him bail," a police official said.
BRS Legal cell counsel J Laxman said the court accepted the remand rejection memo and granted bail and he was released.
There was no immediate response from the CM or the ruling Congress over KTR's criticism.
