An advocate representing the woman who allegedly figured in the CD involving former Karnataka minister Ramesh Jarkiholi on Monday sought permission from a magistrate court to record her statement.

The young woman who has claimed threat to her life, has offered to cooperate with the special investigation team that is probing the case only after giving a statement before the magistrate.

“The court has agreed to record her statement. We are waiting for a formal communication on the date, time and place where she can give her statement,” the woman’s advocate K N Jagadish Kumar said.

The month-old case involving Jarkiholi and the young woman has been seeing twists and turns with each passing day with both sides protesting innocence, and lobbying the blame at the doorstep of the other camp. Jarkiholi has maintained the video is morphed and was made with a deliberate intention to shred his reputation.
