Since morning, the 'sandesh' was a hit at the 129-year-old sweetshop Balaram Mullick and Radharaman Mullick, at Bhowanipore with BJP supporters.
"During every festival we have sweets and so thought that we must have something special for this one as well," shop owner Sudip Mullick told PTI.
A team of workers from the shop practised for 3-4 days to get the perfect image of Modi.
"It was very tough to get the face. We have painted the face with hand using edible food colours," Mullick said.
Weighing 250 gm, the 'sandesh' made of 'chena' is priced at Rs 120 each but fans are not feeling the pinch in their pocket.
"The sales are good. Lot of people from BJP and their supporters are buying," the shopowner said.
Earlier during elections, they had introduced 'nirvachani mishti' (election sweets) where sweets were embossed with party symbols or names like 'NaMo', 'RaGa' and 'Didi'.
