Kolkata: Fire in emergency ward of SSKM

A fire broke out in the emergency ward of state-run SSKM hospital here this morning.

All patients were safely evacuated, officials said.

The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes, fire brigade sources said.

Three fire tenders were pressed into service and the patients were evacuated from the emergency ward safely.

The damage and cause of the fire has not been ascertained, officials said.
