Kolkata cops search firm linked to wife of CBI’s Nageswara Rao
A 14-member CBI team has reached Shillong to examine Rajeev Kumar in connection with the Saradha chit fund scams.

Senior CBI officials in Kolkata, however, called it a propaganda by the Kolkata Police and said that Rao had issued a statement in October, refuting all charges and denying any association with the company. According to a source, Friday’s searches were among several conducted at several premises of the said company in the last couple of months. A 14-member CBI team has, meanwhile, reached Shillong to examine Rajeev Kumar in connection with the Saradha chit fund scams. Kumar’s examination may last more than a day as there are several dotted lines in the case that needs to be connected and he would need to explain about the functioning of the special investigation team that the Bengal government had formed to probe the scam, before the Supreme Court asked the CBI to take over the cases, a CBI insider said.
