Koda yet to satisfy Congress

Beleaguered Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda has, for now, survived the Congress threat to unseat him.

NEW DELHI: Beleaguered Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda has, for now, survived the Congress threat to unseat him. He should be primarily thanking coalition compulsions of the Congress in Ranchi for the reprieve than claiming any administrative magic for remaining in power beyond the January 15-deadline.

On Wednesday, a day after the Congress deadline expired, Mr Koda met Congress leaders Oscar Fernandes and Ajay Maken here and presented a report card to them, detailing how his government implemented the 19-point programme within the Congress deadline and as per its wish.

After the meeting Mr Maken, AICC in-charge of the state, said the Congress leadership will now examine in details the `Koda performance card’ before deciding on its merit and party’s future course of action. On his part, the chief minister hoped he had satisfied the Congress expectations that his government will have now a smooth run.
