COIMBATORE: Kongunadu Jananayaka Katchi ( KJK) today appealed to Tamil film actors to adopt villages which were deprived of basic amenities for long.

While Tamil actor Prakash Raj has adopted Mehaboob Nagar in Telangana, Telugu actor Mahesh Babu and Cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar have adopted villages in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh respectively, KJK Founder President, G K Nagaraj said in a statement.

Stating that there are hundreds of villages in Tamil Nadu without basic infrastructure, amenities like drinking water and toilets, Nagaraj said children in these villages were deprived of quality education and medical facilities.

Besides, many of the women folk in these villages were suffering from their alcoholic husbands, he claimed.
