Kiren Rijiju to visit landslide affected area in Tawang

According to state government Tawang continues to suffer due the heavy rain this season. There are unconfirmed reports of landslide and damage to property in several areas.

GUWAHATI: Union minister of state for home affairs Kiren Rijiju will visit the landslide area on Saturday to assess the damage.

District police, Indian Army and local public of Tawang under took the rescue operation which lasted for about 8 hours.

According to state government Tawang continues to suffer due the heavy rain this season. There are unconfirmed reports of landslide and damage to property in several areas.

Indian Army sheds around Bomdir area and Rabrang halmet have been relocated as precautionar measures.

The entire district is currently reeling under complete darkness as power transmission poles have been destroyed at different junctions.

The complete NH13 stretch that connects Tawang to the rest of the world have either been blocked by landside or have been washed out due to the continuous rainfall.
