Kiren Rijiju says Naga militant outfit in disarray after leader's death
GUWAHATI: With the death of dreaded militant leader Shangwang Shangyung Khaplang who led the Khaplang faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland ( NSCN), the government of India believes that the militant outfit based in Myanmar will be in disarray.

Octogenarian Khaplang passed away on Friday in the outfit's Taga camp in Myanmar.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, who was in Assam on Saturday, termed Khaplang as the heart and soul of the outfit and said without him the organisation will be in disarray.

Khaplang was a Naga from Myanmar and was a father figure for North-eastern ultras taking shelter in Myanmar.

Meanwhile, the self-styled Vice Chairman of the outfit, Khango Konyak will now lead the outfit.

Sources in intelligence agencies say that Konyak is Pakistan-trained and was Khaplang's trusted man.
