Kiren Rijiju rejects Abdul Basit's statement on NIA's visit to Pakistan
NEW DELHI: Rejecting Pakistani envoy's comment on NIA visit to that country, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju today said such statements will not help in improving relations between the two countries.

"We reject the statement given by the Pakistan High Commissioner. What he has said is wrong. It will not help in improving relations between the two countries," the Minister of State for Home told reporters.

Rijiju's statement came a day after Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit indicated that Indian investigators may not be allowed to visit Pakistan to pursue the probe in connection with the Pathankot terror attack.

However, India countered it by saying that before the visit of the Pakistani Joint Investigation Team here, both sides had agreed that it would be on the basis of reciprocity.
