Kiran Reddy rubbishes allegations of phone-tapping

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today denied allegations that phones of Congress MPs from Telangana were being tapped.

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today denied allegations that phones of Congress MPs from Telangana were being tapped.

Talking informally to newsmen in his Assembly chambers, the Chief Minister refuted the MPs allegation in this regard.

The Congress MPs from Telangana had alleged that their phones were being tapped by the Andhra Pradesh government while plain-clothed policemen from the state were keeping a watch on them in Parliament premises.

The Chief Minister said some policemen from the state were sent to Parliament for security duties on the request of the Delhi police. "This happens as a matter of routine. It is not correct to say the state police were sent for surveillance on Telangana MPs," Kiran added.
