Kiran Bedi's Aabhaar Sabha: Thanked workers from her constituency
NEW DELHI: A day before the results, BJP’s CM candidate Kiran Bedi was a picture of humility, thanking workers from her constituency Krishna Nagar at an event here.

But amidst the dissection of efforts by party workers, complaints surfaced about how the change of leaders at various levels weakened the party. Bedi's " Aabhaar Sabha" was held at a banquet hall in East Delhi. Workers poured their hearts out in the feedback form given to them with many of them pointing out that, "heads of over 80 mandals in the city were changed two months before the election which led to confusion and anger among cadre." A few even said, "Respect of the worker should not be taken for granted."

"You don’t change the senapati right before the war. This is true for Kiranji and for the local heads of party offices in various areas of New Delhi," said a mandal head, who did not wish to be identified. "Even the voters found it strange to see new faces just days before the election. You have to give it to AAP for consistently urging people to vote from them by putting an united face," he added.

While the event was attended by over 150 members of the party, many of the participants were visibly upset as they had been informed about the event only at noon on Monday. All workers attending the event were asked to write about the work they did in the campaign, what they thought were "good practices" and suggestions for improvement. A group of workers also wrote on their forms that the the high number of workers brought from other States in the last two weeks resulted in lack of coordination in the campaign. "Sitting MLAs and MPs failed to talk to party cadre and reach out to households. Hence our door-to-door campaigns were not that effective this time," said a worker from Brijwasin.

"National party leaders thought those managing the affairs of the BJP during the 15 years of Congress rule in Delhi have done no work, but they forgot that we were responsible for their victories in both the 2013 Delhi Assembly elections and Lok Sabha polls," said a worker from Shahadra.
