Kidney transported to Delhi from Gurgaon in 30 mins for transplant

The man was declared brain dead yesterday and his kidney was harvested at 2 PM today.
According to Dinesh Kumar Gupta, DCP (Traffic), "The green corridor was created for a distance of 29 kms from Medanta Hospital to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. The distance was covered in 30 minutes. The ambulance started from Medanta at 3 PM and kidney was delivered at 3:30 PM at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital."
"This was the first kidney transplant conducted by our hospital by way of organ transportation by creating green corridor", according to Dr D S Rana, Chairman (Board of Management) of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
"We are extremely thankful to Delhi Police for their prompt action in saving a precious life," he said.
