Kidney scam: 4 sent to judicial remand

Four persons, including a nurse and two cooks, arrested in connection with the kidney transplant racket, were sent to 14 days judicial custody by a court in Gurgaon.

GURGAON: Four persons, including a nurse and two cooks, arrested in connection with the kidney transplant racket, were sent to 14 days judicial custody by a court in Gurgaon.

Linda, the nurse, Ramesh and Suresh, both cooks hailing from Nepal, and Harpal, driver of accused doctor Upendra, were remanded to judicial custody by Magistrate Ranjana Aggarwal.

The four were in police custody for the past two days. Linda was working in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in the national Capital as a staff nurse and was providing part-time services to Dr Amit Kumar, the alleged kingpin of the racket.
