CHENNAI: Actor-turned-politician Khushbu quit the DMK on Monday. In a letter to party chief, M Karunanidhi, Khushbu said, "My tenure in the DMK had been a one-way-traffic and I have always fulfilled the responsibilities given to me with 100% involvement. This is known to the leaders as well as the cadres. "

"I have decided to quit with a heavy heart," Khushbu stated in her letter.

The actor, however, complimented the DMK chief, Karunanidhi, for treating her as his family.

The actor, who had several Tamil hits to her credit, thanked Karunanidhi in her tweets and ruled out joining any other party.

"I am not jumping into any other party ... so stop assumptions and hold back your horses, friends ... need some time alone with family," she tweeted.

In another tweet, Khushbu thanked supporters for standing behind her.
