Kerala's red army sees red with wayward Moody attack

Kerala's red army sees red with wayward Moody attack
The CPM’s unofficial ‘cyber army’ understandably sees red whenever Narendra Modi or his government is in the news, but this time over-enthusiasm left the comrades themselves red-faced.

After news broke regarding the improved credit rating — the highest ever — Moody’s has accorded to India, Malayali trolls sympathetic to the Left started bombarding Tom Moody’s Facebook page with obscenities, obviously confusing the international investor service agency with the former Australian cricketer and current SunRisers Hyderabad chief coach.

Malayali trolls famously skewered Maria Sharapova when she unwittingly asked ‘Sachin who?’ on twitter, and the same angst and use of choice epithets was on display as the comrades showered their ire on poor Moody.

Sample these: From the handle Viplavam Vijayikatte (Let the revolution win) – ‘We communist party (CPM) understand you take commission from Modi and give good report. Shame, shame Moody’; from the handle Firos Sulthan (with an image of Che Guevara) – ‘In 2019 election, you will see your Modi bite the dust, you go*amned Moody’.

The tirade went on a while before the truth dawned on a more literate fellow traveller. Laibak Khan chipped in with, ‘Dear comrades, please use decent language, Tom Moody is innocent and he never gave any rating to Modi govt. Lal Salam’. Of course, by then the damage had been done and another comrade calling himself Calm-A-Sutra did what commies typically do in such situations – blame the enemy. ‘How can it be the commies? It might be the Sanghees. They are so carried away by the rating news, they don’t even care to find the difference,’ he fumed.

Moody finally responded through his Facebook page.
