KPCC general secretary (organisation) Neyyattinkara Sanal said the meetings would be organised under the leadership of the respective District Congress Committees (DCCs), according to a party statement.
He alleged that Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Lok Sabha members Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and K C Venugopal, Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan and other leaders, MPs and elected representatives were subjected to police action while peacefully protesting to protect democracy.
Gandhi and Priyanka, along with their supporters, had staged protests on October 6 and 7 against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Gandhi and Priyanka were among around 90 people detained by Delhi Police on Wednesday after they were stopped from proceeding towards Jantar Mantar to stage a protest, officials said.
They were taken to different police stations and the two leaders were released a little after 8 pm, they said.
