Kerala sticks to trend, recoveries outpace new Covid-19 cases

As on Tuesday, 173 Coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals across Kerala while 211 patients have recovered from the infection.

The trend of recoveries from Covid-19 outpacing new positive cases continued in Kerala on Tuesday too with the southern state reporting eight new positive cases and 13 patients testing negative

Of the new cases of infection, four are from Kannur district, three from Kozhikode district and one from Kasargod district. Among the new patients, five have come from Dubai and the rest have got the infection through local contacts, Health and Social Justice minister KK Shailaja Teacher announced in Thiruvananthapuram.

Of those recovered, six are from Kasargod district, two each from Ernakulam and Palakkad districts, and one each from Kollam, Thrissur and Malappuram districts.


As on Tuesday, 173 Coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals across Kerala while 211 patients have recovered from the infection. This was announced by the Minister for Health and Social Justice, K K Shailaja Teacher today.

Continuing the trend in the past few days, the number of people under surveillance in the State has further come down to 1,07,075. Of these, 1,06,511 are under observation at their homes and 564 are isolated in hospitals. 81 persons were hospitalised today. So far, 16,235 samples from people with symptoms have been sent for testing and the results of 15,488 samples have been reported negative.
