Kerala govt to institute award in memory of V Kurien

The award, carrying a cash prize of Rs one lakh and citation, would be given to the most efficient primary apex dairy society in the state, Joseph said in a release here.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala government would institute an award in memory of Dr Verghese Kurien, the 'father of white revolution', state Dairy Development Minister K C Joseph said on Thursday.

The award, carrying a cash prize of Rs one lakh and citation, would be given to the most efficient primary apex dairy society in the state, Joseph said in a release here.

A committee, comprising Dairy Director, 'Milma' Chairman and three regional chairpersons, had been constituted to fix the criteria for selecting the best dairy society, he said.

The committee has been asked to submit its report before October 15.
