Kerala Finance minister K M Mani urged to allocate fund for retired journalists' health scheme
KOCHI: The Senior Journalists Forum has urged state Finance minister K M Mani to allocate fund in the coming budget for a comprehensive health scheme for retired journalists.

The Forum's state executive, which met here today, also demanded creation of a separate fund to strengthen the existing Kerala Journalists Welfare pension scheme. The State Committee meet in another resolution urged the Union government to provide free rail travel for retired journalists.

Prof K V Thomas MP, who inaugurated the meet, presented the memento of the Forum to N Moosakutty, the recipient of Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Translation. Mosakutty is one of the Secretaries of Senior Journalists'Forum- Kerala.

Forum President C R Ramachandran presided. General Secretary, A Madhavan and Former President of Kerala Union of Working Journalists P N Prasannakumar also spoke.
