Kerala failed to capitalise on IT advantages: Chandy
KOCHI: Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today said the state had failed to capitalise on the advantages of Information Technology and hoped by March this year the e-governance project would be completed.

Presently, 6 districts in the state are e-districts, including Ernakulam which was declared as e-district today at a function here by the Chief Minister.

Chandy said the state had lagged in making use of the IT wave.

He said the centre had given 30 days time to complete the e-governance project.

This would enable the citizens to obtain certificates online from various departments from a network of taluk offices, 124 village offices and 165 Akshaya centres.

Various certificates including caste, identity, relationship, nativity, sucession, liablity would be available through akshaya centres.
