Kerala CPM's MM Mani, CPI locked in war of words
KOCHI: A verbal battle between the CPM MLA MM Mani and the leaders of CPI seems to have reached a flashpoint with the CPI mouthpiece ' Janayugam' coming out with an article sharply criticising the leader.

Mani had, in a recent speech, criticised the CPI ministers in the Left Front cabinet -revenue minister E Chandrashekharan and agriculture minister VS Sunil Kumar.

He said the two CPI ministers do not have a clue of what was happening in his district Idukki. Mani said these two ministries that are closely linked to the people are with another party . The two ministers are not doing anything to solve the problems that farmers face.

The CPI has hit back against Mani saying his speech reflects his political ignorance.

The article in 'Janayugam' points out tjat Mani is now speaking against the two ministers simply because they are moving against land mafia.

Mani had earlier got into trouble with his controversial speech a couple of years ago, in which he had said he and his party colleagues had finished off their troublesome opponents in Idukki in the past.
