Kerala CPM says SNDP general secretary is in RSS custody
KOCHI: The war of words with the SNDP general secretary Vellapally Natesan and CPM leaders has escalated with the latter alleging that Vellappally is under the custody of RSS.

CPM Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan has alleged that Vellappally Natesan is a prisoner of RSS. Jayarajan said that when the RSS men destroyed the statue of Sree Narayana Guru, Kerala's leading social reformer of the 20th century who worked for uplifting the Ezava community near Kodiyeri a few days back, Vellappally Natesan did not even issue a press release protesting against it.

Jayarajan alleges that the arrested people were released on bail by the police because there was a deal between RSS and the police.

The police had arrested three RSS men in connection with the incident while a case has been registered against 10 people.

CPM leader Pinarayi Vijayan said that the statue was destroyed by RSS as part of its attempts to create trouble in the region.

He said that instead of putting the culprits in jail, the police have struck a deal with them.

Earlier, Vellappally Natesan had criticised the CPM for depicting Sree Narayana Guru as crucified in a tableaux as part of the cultural procession on Janmashtami day. Vellappally said that the CPM has insulted Sree Narayana Guru through the tableaux.

The CPM is acting like Taliban in the state, he said. Pinarayi Vijayan said that the CPM was trying to expose the attempt to crucify the teachings of Sree Narayana Guru by some people.
