Kerala becomes the 4th state to impose statewide lockdown
Vijayan convened a high-level meeting of officials and cabinet ministers to take stock of the prevailing situation after the infection spread to 11 of the 14 districts with 67 confirmed cases across the state.

To minimise the spread of the virus, all borders in the state will also remain closed. Operations of all public transport will cease with immediate effect. All places of worship to also remain closed, quoted news agency ANI.

Chief Minister also added that the state would tighten its vigil and impose stringent action to check community spread. The government may close down state Beverage Corporation outlets and Bars as a preventive measure.
