Kerala appoint ex-district judge to probe sexual harassment charges against Saseendran

The allegations made by a local TV channel had led to the resignation of Saseendran from the Pinarayi Vijayan government.

KOCHI: The state government has decided to appoint former district judge PS Antony as the head of the judicial commission to probe into the allegations of misconduct against a woman by AK Saseendran, a former transport minister in the Left Front government.

The allegations made by a local TV channel had led to the resignation of Saseendran from the Pinarayi Vijayan government. The commission will examine the circumstances in which the alleged conversation with sexual undertones took place and see whether the minister’s words were edited.

It will also identify the people responsible for unearthing evidence against the minister and see whether there was any conspiracy behind telecasting the minister’s conversation.


Meanwhile, the Nationalist Congress Party’s central leadership has sought induction of Kuttanad MLA Thomas Chandy as a minister in the Left Front government.

NCP leader Sharad Pawar has reportedly taken up the matter with CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury.
