Kejriwal government says elitist policies can't continue in education
NEW DELHI: The Delhi government on Tuesday slammed Sanskriti School for following an elitist policy of education, and opposed any relief to the school to continue with its earlier admission policy, which reserves 60% seats for Class I officials at the Centre.

The admission policy at Sanskriti has already been stayed by the high court.

The Arvind Kejriwal-led government demanded that the school should stick to its December notification to provide 70% seats on merit and the rest to the economically weaker sections of society. That notification had done away with the management quota.

Faced with resistance from the state, which said all schools must follow the right to education mandate of Article 21A and cannot make education elitist, the top court extended the last date for admission to January 31 and listed the case for detailed hearing on Thursday.
