Kejriwal dares Digvijay to file FIR against him
Reacting sharply to Digvijay Singh's allegations that he had amassed crores, Arvind Kejriwal challenged him to file an FIR instead of making irresponsible statements.
"If Digvijay Singh feels I have swindled crores, why doesn't his government register FIR against me and take legal action rather than making irresponsible statements," Kejriwal said, adding, "Why is Mr Singh silent about making public the list of donors to Congress and all its expenses in the last five years? "
Earlier in the day, the Congress general secretary said in Azamgarh, UP, that the Income Tax department had served notice to Kejriwal in 2005. Singh charged the former IRS official with not only flouting government service rules but also being involved in politics and collecting "crores" through his NGO.
Singh said he drew a line between yoga guru Baba Ramdev and Gandhian Anna Hazare, both of whom were engaged in anti-corruption campaigns. "While Ramdev is a thug (cheat), Hazare is a social worker and that is why the government acted on his demands," Singh, who is the AICC in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, said.
