All major roads in Srinagar remained barricaded and concertina wires were spread to thwart any movement of protesters. The clock tower in Lal Chowk, where thousands of people had gathered on March 1 to protest the assassination of Khamenei and attacks on Iran, remained barricaded for the second consecutive day.
J&K police have registered a case at the cyber police station in Srinagar against some electronic and social media platforms following the incidents on March 2. Following this, social media pages of some prominent news organisations were taken down or blocked, which was protested by the political leaders including Mehbooba Mufti and Sajad Lone.
J&K LG Manoj Sinha chaired a security review meeting to deliberate on the prevailing law and order situation in the UT.
