GORAKHPUR: The Samajwadi Party (SP) today attacked the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh over the Kasganj communal violence claiming it demonstrated "failure" of the Yogi Adityanath dispensation.

"It is unfortunate that Chandan Gupta was killed and it is highly condemnable. The government talks about security to the people but the reality has been exposed," SP state president Naresh Uttam told reporters here.

The incidents reflected the failure of the state government, he claimed.

Uttam criticised the Adityanath government for "only laying foundation stones and doing nothing" for the people.

He also charged the Centre with being unable to control inflation, corruption, poverty, violence and terrorism.

Uttam claimed that corruption has increased ten times in UP under the current dispensation.
