Kasab took mum's blessings for jihad
NEW DELHI: A day after Ajmal Amir Kasabs father admitted to a Pakistani newspaper that the lone terrorist survivor in the Mumbai carnage was indeed his son, it now turns out that Kasab had visited his village in Faridkot only three months ago to seek his mothers blessings for jihad. His father , Amir Kasab, had said that Kasab had left home several years ago and never returned.

The latest information comes from Pakistans news channel Geo TV which visited Kasabs village. The report states that Kasab had visited the village in Okara district only three months ago. During his stay, it said, he told his mother that he was going to participate in a jihad and had sought her blessings. A resident of the village was quoted as saying that Kasab had told his mother that his fate was now in the hands of Allah.

Residents of his native Faridkot village told Geo TV that he had told some other villagers as well that he was about to leave for jihad.

The report is another blow to Pakistan , which has been frenetically denying that Kasab is its national. The account of Faridkot residents tallies with Kasabs statement to the ATS and boosts the veracity of Indias case that the brutal assault was carried out by a group of Pakistani jihadis.
