Discarding his T-shirts & sports' pants, Kasab, wore kurta & payjama.

MUMBAI: Discarding his usual T-shirts and sports' pants, Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, the prime accused in the Mumbai terror attacks case on Saturday wore a white kurta and payjama when he appeared before the trial court here.

The jail authorities have provided him the new outfit, his lawyer Abbas Kazmi said.

Before the proceedings into the 26/11 terror attack case began, Kasab had a 10-minute conversation with his lawyer outside the court with the permission of Judge M L Tahiliyani.

During the course of hearing, Kasab appeared relaxed and smiling. However, his smile vanished and he appeared serious when special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam accused him of trying to delay the trial by seeking medical experts' opinion on forensic tests regarding his age.

Kazmi earlier pleaded that he be allowed to examine the X-rays done by medical experts to determine whether he is a minor or not.

However, Nikam objected to Kasab's plea, saying it cannot be allowed at this juncture and alleged that the accused was trying to delay the trail.
