DMK president M Karunanidhi's health sees 'slight decline'

Karunanidhi had been recently taken to Kauvery hospital unit near his Gopalapuram residence for a change of the tracheostomy pipe, which enables the patient to receive enough oxygen.
Currently at his residence now, Karunanidhi is being treated by a medical team round-the-clock, "providing hospital level care at home."
Visitors have been advised to not seek to see the DMK leader in view of the infection.
Karunanidhi had witnessed a degeneration just after the death of AIADMK leader J Jayalalithaa in December 2016. He was admitted in Kauvery Hospital due to breathing difficulties, after which he had had the procedure of tracheostomy.
A prolific writer, Karunanidhi had to stop delivering this articles due to health deterioration thereafter. MK Stalin, his son, was made the Working President of the DMK in January 2017 while Karunanidhi had gone silent, largely home-bound but for the occasional visits to the party headquarters Anna Arivalayam and residences of his kin living nearby.
