Karunanidhi attacks Tamil Nadu government on Cauvery check-dam issue

CHENNAI: Flaying the AIADMK Government in Tamil Nadu over Karnataka's move to build a check dam across river Cauvery, DMK President M Karunanidhi today charged it with being 'unconcerned' about the issue.

He alleged Karnataka was in the 'forefront' of acting against the interests of people of Tamil Nadu in the inter-state river issue.

"While opposing this, I also condemn the government of the day in Tamil Nadu which is not concerned about this," he told reporters here when asked about the issue. Protests have erupted in Tamil Nadu, especially in the Cauvery Delta districts, over Karnataka's decision to construct check dam across the river at Mekedatu.
