Karni Sena attacks Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman's Agra house but SP, BJP turn 'caste conscious'
After Karni Sena vandalized Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman's house due to his comments on Rana Sanga, BJP and SP leaders tread cautiously. SP leaders claim the incident attacked the Dalit community, while BJP leaders condemned Suman's remarks ...

Karni Sena resorted to vandalism after Suman termed "Rana Sanga a traitor who invited Babar to India". Protesters had reached Suman's house in Agra with bulldozers. The police later controlled the situation.
"This is an attack on Dalit community and the entire PDA. Had Ramji Lal Suman not been a Dalit, would these attacks have taken place," SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav told ET. "We will launch protests across the state on the issue after Eid."
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said in a post on X: "Samajwadi Party is not questioning the valour and patriotism of Mewar king Rana Sanga. BJP has always used some topics of history to gain political advantage and to divide the country on religious-caste basis. Our MP has only tried to give an example of one-sided history and one-sided interpretation. None of our efforts are to insult Rajput society or any other society."
BJP leaders, meanwhile, termed the vandalism unfortunate but condemned Suman's comments on Rana Sanga. UP BJP chief Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh said no attacker can be ideal for the party. "The incident reflects people's anger over Suman's statement. But people should have patience as there is a rule of law in UP," he told ET. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya accused Akhilesh of instigating caste conflict.
