Karnataka: Yediyurappa challenges Siddaramaiah to dissolve assembly amidst corruption allegations, promises BJP will win by 140+ seats
In a special state executive committee meeting, BJP's Yediyurappa challenged Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah to dissolve the legislative assembly, claiming BJP would win over 140 seats. He blamed Congress’s corruption for its loss of popularity, citing ...

“Because of our own mistakes, we suffered a setback in some Lok Sabha seats. But people have clearly voted against the misrule and corruption of the Congress,” he said.
The Congress had won the state assembly polls by a landslide 136 seats last year. However, it performed at a less than expected level in the recent Lok Sabha election, winning in just nine out of 28 constituencies, against its expectation of 15 - 20 seats.
The Congress, said Yediyurappa, had lost popularity within a short span of a year because it had failed to protect the interests of the state and indulged in scams. The leader was referring to alleged financial irregularities in Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki ST Development Corporation (KMVSTDC) and Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). He urged the BJP leaders to press for the CM’s resignation in the upcoming legislative assembly session.
This was the first state executive committee meeting of the Karnataka unit of the BJP after the recent Lok Sabha polls. State party president BY Vijayendra will also be holding a two-day review meeting on Friday and Saturday with candidates who lost in the recent general elections.
