Karnataka: With PM Modi & Shah to visit in April, BJP appears to begin poll preparation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah’s Karnataka tours in first week of April have gotten political clusters curious who’re seeing it as poll preparation.

BJP plans to conduct a grand programme marking 116th birth anniversary of late Shivakumara Swami of Siddaganga mutt in Tumukuru. With Shah planning to attend the event, party intends to bring in two lakh attendees as the mutt has a huge following among BJP’s vote bank, Lingayats.

Mutt’s decision to make former chief minister Yediyurappa’s son and BJP VP BY Vijayendra in-chargre of the event must be noted.


The programme would take place on Palace Grounds where Shah will relaunch the health insurance scheme, Yashasvini and launch Ksheer Abhivridhi Bank scheme.

While Modi would visit Bengaluru on April 5 to launch a few development programmes, Shah might conduct a meet with the state BJP core committee in Karnataka to discuss poll preparations.

More central leaders are expected to visit poll bound states soon.
