Ashwath Narayana, who is also the minister for Higher Education, said that academic classes for degree courses will be held online from September 1 and the shift to offline will happen a month later. “The department is waiting for guidelines from the Centre to conduct offline classes and to hold some of the pending exams,” he said.
“The state government has made all preparations to start offline classes as per the guidelines of the University Grants Commission. Also pending exams for final year students will be held before September,” Narayana said.
The minister spoke in support of the Centre’s decision to conduct NEET exams next month. “Karnataka has conducted CET exams for more than 1.94 lakh students. Sixty three Covid positive students who sat for the common entrance test have performed well. There is no reason why NEET should not be held,” he said.
