Karnataka state police website hacked, restored later
The Karnataka State Police website was hacked by purported Pakistani cyber attackers on Friday, revealing a gaping security flaw leading to the breach. Authorities managed to restored the website later.

“(sic) We Are Team Pak Cyber Attackers,” was a message splashed on ksp.gov.in, along with Pakistan’s flag. The hacker identified himself as ‘Faisal 1337’ with the following message: “Police Website Pwned! Shame On Your Security.”
Senior police officers said that the website was restored within an hour after they figured it was hacked. “The Karnataka State Police website is maintained by the police computer wing and not the National Informatics Centre,” an officer pointed out.
Senior IPS officer Sanjay Sahay, who is in-charge of the police computer wing, is investigating the breach. He was unavailable for comments. According to sources, the police department is trying to locate the IP address of the hackers.
