Karnataka state Budget on March 5

BENGALURU: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa will present the State Budget on March 5. The State Cabinet which met here on Monday decided to hold the budget session from March 2.

The government has also postponed the customary joint session from January to February in view of the chief minister’s tour of Davos. He will be away for about five days along with Industries Minister Jagadish Shettar and take part in the world economic forum summit. A team of senior officials will also accompany him.

Governor VR Vala was scheduled to address the joint session of the Legislature on January 20, and the Cabinet has decided to hold the same on February 17. The Legislature will meet for about a week.


The government is planning to make use of the world economic forum event to spread a word about the the global investor summit (GIM) it is holding in November, and invite delegates. The Cabinet on Monday decided to hold GIM for three days from November 3.
