Karnataka opposition parties not keen to impeach Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao
The Opposition in Karnataka avoided moving an impeachment motion against Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao, who did not answer calls through the day, reportedly told Karnataka Bar Council members who met him that he would decide in a week.
Although the BJP and the JD(S) walked out of the Assembly demanding that the government hand over the probe to the CBI instead of the SIT, they refused to move an impeachment motion against Justice Rao. "We can move impeachment against Justice Rao but we would rather want that he step down out of respect for the institution," said Shettar, the former CM during whose term Justice Rao was appointed. He also pressed for amending the Lokayukta Act.
