Karnataka not to influence Lok Sabha polls: Sharad Pawar
NEW DELHI: NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Thursday said the Karnataka result will not set the tone for the general elections.

"Don't jump to any conclusions because of the win in Karnataka. The forthcoming elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are more important and pose a bigger challenge to the UPA. One can't predict which way the wind will blow with just one electoral victory," said Pawar, while addressing a rally in Maharashtra's Satara.

While Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have BJP governments, the Congress governs Rajasthan.

The Congress, however, differed with pawar's views. Senior Congress leader Raashid Alvi said, "I don't want to say anything on what Mr Pawar has said. But at the same time Karnataka elections were as important as Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Delhi."
