Karnataka Industries Minister seeks industrial corridor at KGF

The project, when becomes a reality, would become one of the prominent industrial hubs on the Bengaluru-Chennai industrial corridor and add jobs. The government would soon submit proposal about the project to the Apex body soon.

Karnataka Industries Minister MB Patil on Tuesday urged the national industrial corridor apex body to consider establishing an industrial corridor in KGF, Kolar district.

He made the request via video-conference while he attended the meeting of the Apex Monitoring Authority of National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) chaired by Finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman in New Delhi.

Patil informed the meeting that 3600 acres of land which belongs to BEML in KGF could be used for the purpose.


The project, when becomes a reality, would become one of the prominent industrial hubs on the Bengaluru-Chennai industrial corridor and add jobs. The government would soon submit proposal about the project to the Apex body soon.

About Chennai- Bengaluru industrial corridor (CBIC) Tumakuru node, Patil said the work for the development of Phase-A in 1736 acres has been awarded to L&T.

On Bengaluru-Mumbai industrial corridor (BMIC) Dharwad node, he said the preliminary notification has been issued for 6042 acres.
