NEW DELHI: The Karnataka High Court on Monday differed on disqualification of 11 BJP MLAs by Speaker K G Bopaiah. The issue will now go to another bench.

On the disqualification of 5 Independent MLAs, the two-judge bench agreed that it should be heard by "some other bench". The issue of 11 BJP MLAs will now come up before a third judge on Oct 20.

Chief Justice Khehar Singh upheld the Speaker's order but Justice N Kumar rejected it.

Earlier on Thursday, Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa expectedly won a vote of confidence in the truncated state Assembly, a victory which will depend on the High Court's decision on the disqualification of 16 MLAs.
