The Governor has of late been using a bullet proof vehicle after last week’s sanction order sparked widespread protests.
The Congress workers and leaders have taken to streets, venting out their anger against the Governor. Police have beefed up security around him and on the roads he plans to travel to protect him from any physical harm.
The Governor has cancelled some of his scheduled engagements to avoid media and not give a chance for demonstrators, sources said.
Senior Congress leaders too, during their protest meetings, have used strong words against the Governor ever since he gave a seven-page sanction order in response to requests from activists TJ Abraham, Pradeep Kumar SP and Snehamayi Krishna.
MLC Ivan D'Souza has publicly threatened the Governor of attacks on the Raj Bhavan like the way protestors did in Bangladesh's capital of Dhaka leading to the PM fleeing the country. In his speech at the protest meet in Mangaluru on Monday, two days ago, he urged the Governor to withdraw the sanction order failing which he would face similar protests as in Dhaka forcing him to run away.
Siddaramaiah is battling charges of his family accepting 14 pricey plots in an upscale residential area in Mysuru in return for 3.16 acres of land that Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) acquired at Kesare village on the city outskirts.
