Karnataka government to hand over IAS officer DK Ravi's case to CBI
NEW DELHI: The Karnataka government will hand over the probe into the death of IAS officer DK Ravi to the Central Bureau of Investigation ( CBI), a top official in the state government told ET. A decision on the same was taken late Thursday night.

Chief Minister Siddaramiah will announce the CBI inquiry on the floor of the state assembly on Monday, the person said.

The state government had earlier ruled out a CBI inquiry and had ordered an investigation by the state police. Opposition parties have been protesting the state's move to not hand the case over to the central agency.

Ravi's parents had also been demanding a CBI inquiry on the grounds that their son was under tremendous 'political pressure' and his death was not a suicide but a murder.
