Karnataka District In-Charge Ministers List 2026: 31 districts get new ministers; check full list

The Karnataka government has appointed ministers as district in-charge ministers for 31 districts across the state, with the new responsibilities coming into effect immediately.

The notification was issued on Friday after approval from Chief Minister D K Shivakumar. The ministers will oversee their respective districts until further orders and will also hoist the national flag during Independence Day celebrations on Saturday.

Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara has been given responsibility for Tumakuru, while K J George will be in charge of Chikkamagaluru and K H Muniyappa will oversee Bengaluru Rural.


The other district responsibilities have been distributed among ministers as follows:

• Ramalinga Reddy — Kolar
• M B Patil — Vijayapura
• Krishna Byre Gowda — Bengaluru Urban
• Satish Jarkiholi — Belagavi
• U T Khader — Dakshina Kannada
• Priyank Kharge — Kalaburagi
• Eshwar Khandre — Bidar
• Sharan Prakash Patil — Yadgir
• Basavaraj Rayareddy — Gadag
• N Cheluvarayaswamy — Mandya
• Byrathi Suresh — Chikkaballapur
• Yathindra Siddaramaiah — Mysuru

More Ministers Given District Responsibilities

The remaining districts have also been allocated to ministers in the notification.

Santosh Lad has been assigned Dharwad, while Shivaraj Tangadagi will oversee Koppal. SS Mallikarjun has been given Davanagere and K Puttaranga Shetty will be responsible for Chamarajanagar.

Madhu Bangarappa has been assigned Shivamogga, Rudrappa Lamani will oversee Haveri and B Nagendra has been given Ballari.

Laxman Savadi will be in charge of Uttara Kannada, while P M Narendra Swamy will oversee Kodagu. Shivalinge Gowda has been assigned Hassan and Vijayanand Kashappanavar will be responsible for Bagalkote.

H C Balakrishna has been given Bengaluru South, Ajay Singh will oversee Raichur, Rizwan Arshad has been assigned Udupi, Raghumurthy will be responsible for Chitradurga and K S Basavanthappa will oversee Vijayanagara.

B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan Not Given Any District

Housing Minister B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan has not been assigned responsibility for any district.

According to the notification, Zameer Ahmed Khan had written to Chief Minister D K Shivakumar requesting that he not be given the charge of any district.

The minister cited a lack of time as well as the need to focus on party organisational work ahead of the upcoming local body elections.

Ministers To Hoist National Flag On Independence Day

The newly appointed district in-charge ministers will play a prominent role in the Independence Day celebrations on Saturday.

They will hoist the national flag at celebrations in their respective districts as Karnataka marks Independence Day.

The appointments also come ahead of local body elections, with several ministers expected to balance their administrative responsibilities with political and organisational work in the coming months.
